Preparing Tomorrow's Leaders Today

Leadership York's mission is to train and support individuals who have the desire to serve the York community in leadership positions.

Since 1978, Leadership York has provided professionally organized training for adults and teenagers who are interested in or already serving on boards, committees, and other planning groups. Leadership York enables nonprofit organizations to fill board positions with effective leaders who bring a broad understanding of community resources and weaknesses as well as an appreciation for efficient board governance issues.

Leadership York provides programming for the emerging adult leader through the Leadership Training Program, newly transplanted senior-level executives with the Executive Series, and high school sophomores and juniors through Future Leaders of York.  Additionally, leadership continuity is addressed through Board Development to local nonprofit agencies and keeping our graduates involved through our Membership Program..

Our newest service is an online Board and Committee Placement service.  Organizations looking for qualified leaders can find them here, and Leadership York program graduates can link up with organizations that are looking for board and committee members.

Leadership York is funded through tuition, grants, donations, and program sponsorships from community-minded York County businesses, foundations, and individuals.
