LTP Class of 2001

Leadership York

Leadership Training Program

The Leadership Training Program (LTP) has been preparing men and women for volunteer leadership positions in York County since 1978. Participants learn about the county's history, current community issues, and develop their leadership skills so that they can make a positive impact as board and committee members serving nonprofit organizations.

Held from September through May, the program includes an opening overnight retreat, one full day session, and thirteen evening sessions. Topics covered include: Leadership Styles, Diversity, Economic Development, Children's Issues, Arts & Culture, Environment, and Health Care. Graduates' skills and interests are matched with nonprofit organizations who need effective board and committee members.

Additional benefits to the participants include the development and fine tuning of leadership skills and an increased knowledge of the community.

Employers benefit from the opportunity to reward and invest in employees and improve retention, as they feel more connected and committed to the community. The course also provides access to additional opportunities for partnerships and new business relationships.

Tuition for the Leadership Training Program is $1195, plus a $25 non-refundable application fee.  In many cases, an employer will pay this tuition in order to develop the leadership skills and to encourage the community involvement of their most valued employees. Leadership York is also able to provide partial scholarships.
